RPK200225: Known Issue - MSI Installation created by Raypack 4.1 fails when installing drivers

Product

RayPack

Version/-s

4.1

Issue

MSI installation with driver will fail.

Jira-Task

RPK-2276 Installation of imported driver fails

Description

When creating a package with driver (using the Driver wizard or adding the driver directly to a Component) Raypack uses DIFx Merge Module that performs the installation of that driver. Due to invalid sequencing, the installation exit prematurely with error and rollback procedure starts.

Workaround

Yes

Instructions

1.      Open RPP/MST/MSI file with driver package

  1. Go to Advanced View [CTRL+2]
  2. Open Sequencing tab.
  3. Find inside Execution Sequence action “MsiCleanupOnSuccess”
  4. Use button Execution last, to move this action to the end of execution.

Advanced users can go directly to TABLES view to InstallExecuteSequence table and change the value of Sequence for MsiCleanupOnSuccess so that it is greater than the sequence of InstallFinalize action.

This issue will be fixed in the next release of the Product.
